Barcelona hosts the 15th edition of the Barcelona Design Week (BDW). The unavoidable event on design, creativity and innovation will take place from November 17 to 26 in a double format: face-to-face and online. In a context of environmental, health and economic crisis such as the current one, the motto of BDW2020 is “Design for activism”. And it proposes a reflection on the role of design as a tool to achieve the 17 Goals for Sustainable Development of the United Nations (the 2030 Agenda).

Covid-19, environment and gender

In its 2020 edition, Design Week focuses on Covid-19, the environment and gender. And is that, in recent years, design has proven its value and usefulness as a tool for sustainable development.
BDW2020 calls for mobilization in two ways. On the one hand, to professionals and companies to develop designs capable of generating balance, equality and trust for the planet and people. On the other hand, to the public to contribute to the recovery of the creative fabric and its activity. To do this, it proposes a program of 80 activities including conferences, workshops, installations and exhibitions. Design week will take place from November 17 to 26 in a double format: virtual and face-to-face.
